The building has a fascinating history and has many original features intact, giving it a great authentic feel. The location, 5 blocks south of Rittenhouse Square, was ideal. Once I parked the car, I met up with my friends, and we walked everywhere.My room was spacious, and the bathroom was big and beautifully tiled with high-quality faucets and a shower. The amenities, soaps, and lotions, were also high-qualityThe bed and pillows were very comfortable. Outside of the F&B options within the 118-room hotel, there are several other reasons to book a stay. For starters, its enviable location on picturesque Rittenhouse Square allows guests to easily get to most of the city’s main sights within a short walk — or simply sit on a park bench beneath the trees.

If you do choose to eat on property, you can pop down to Bank & Bourbon, The Lounge, or the grab-and-go POD Market. The first two are a bit upscale, but they’re still more casual than other fine dining restaurants you may have on your list. The staff, especially the manager, were wonderful and very accommodating. It was very convenient not to have to check in at a front desk, and just be able to go straight to our room. We’re within easy walking distance of the Kimmel Cultural Campus, the Bellevue Hotel, Crystal Tea Room, City Hall, The Lucy, the Academy of Music, the Arts Ballroom, and more. This sprawling split-level suite — our most expansive space, at 1,000 square feet — features two bedrooms, a large living room (perfect for gatherings and celebrations!), two full bathrooms and a kitchenette. Named for Dr. Alice Norton, a remarkable Guild member who organized the Guild’s musical and theatrical productions, the suite occupies the space that was once the club’s auditorium. Today, a cool, elevated rock ‘n’ roll vibe — all graphic textiles, luxe leathers, brass bling, and other whimsical details — nods to the lively spirit, fun and showmanship Alice brought to the Guild.
The Loews Philadelphia Hotel, however, is one of the better ones in the city. Select areas of the city, most notably, Old City, still have historic cobblestoned streets, which are best traversed with supportive walking shoes. The highlight of my stay, though, had to be the Underground Spa. As the name suggests, you’ll head below ground level to access the relaxing sanctuary and its various services. I opted to recharge with the Alpine Arnica Deep Tissue Massage, which was preceded by a quick dip in the indoor, heated pool. Absolutely beautiful property, so well designed and I love that they've really kept in line with the history of the place. Women who inhabited the historic rowhome when it was the New Century Guild, a groundbreaking club formed in 1882 to support working women in the city. The room features a soaring ceiling, luxurious textiles and beautiful original details, for a space that’s as striking as it is plush and comfortable. If you don’t feel like whipping up meals in your home-away-from-home, you can order off the menu at a.kitchen + bar. Breakfast consists of favorites like cornmeal pancakes and a French omelet, while dinner is a bit heavier with entrees like grilled branzino and roast lamb leg.

Great location, hotel is drop dead gorgeous, room was beautiful and comfortable, great hotel amenities including sparkling water on tap, free snacks and drinks. Didn't see other hotel guests around so our stay was very quiet. Bathroom was very nice with plenty of towels and nice smelling toiletries.
